Virgin Media has introduced significant changes to its television packages, now offering an enticing freebie that rivals Sky’s offerings. The telecommunications giant has revamped its primary TV and broadband plans, presenting new titles, pricing, and benefits.
The starting point is now the M125 Fibre Broadband + Flex plan priced at £30.99 per month. This package includes over 150 TV channels and 132Mbps fibre broadband on a flexible 30-day rolling contract, eliminating the need for a long-term commitment but potentially offering better value in Virgin’s 24-month contracts.
Virgin has also launched the Entertainment bundle for £36.99, featuring more than 200 channels, including select Sky channels and essential free-to-air channels, alongside 362Mbps fibre broadband. Notably, this package includes a complimentary Netflix subscription, a move previously reserved for Virgin’s pricier plans, bringing it in line with Sky’s offerings that already incorporate Netflix across all TV packages.
Moreover, Virgin has unveiled tailored plans for movie enthusiasts and sports aficionados, such as the Cinema bundle at £46.99 and the Sport bundle at £59.99. These packages provide over 200 regular channels, either Sky Cinema or eight Sky Sports channels covering Premier League, Golf, F1, and more, along with 362Mbps broadband and Netflix.
For those seeking a comprehensive package, the Sport + Cinema bundle at £69.99 combines these plans with faster 500Mbps broadband. Additionally, the Max Volt bundle at £84.99 offers the same features but emphasizes ‘blazing fast’ internet speeds of up to 1,130Mbps.
Included in the Max Volt bundle is an O2 Classic Plan SIM loaded with unlimited data, minutes, and texts, as well as roaming in 75 destinations. The package also incorporates O2 Extra, offering a choice between a complimentary three-month subscription to Amazon Prime or Disney+.
However, customers should note a slight catch as Virgin has adjusted its mid-contract price increase policy. Starting from April 2026, an additional £4 per month will be added to customers’ bills.
In comparison, Sky, which raised its TV and broadband prices by 6.2% earlier this year, offers more budget-friendly TV deals for those looking to upgrade without changing their existing broadband service. Sky’s packages begin with the Essential TV bundle priced at £15, providing over 100 channels, including Sky Atlantic and complimentary subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+ with each package.
It’s essential to consider that Sky mentions the price of its 24-month contracts ‘may change’ during the minimum term, ensuring customers are aware of potential adjustments in pricing.
