Black Sheep, a coffee chain based in the UK, has unveiled its festive Christmas menu. I had the pleasure of attending a wreath-making event where I got an exclusive preview of the menu. Black Sheep, known for serving 100% speciality-grade Robusta coffee, introduced its Christmas menu on Wednesday, November 5. The menu is packed with bold flavors, comforting winter drinks, and refreshing options.
As I sampled the new offerings, I discovered a delightful drink that instantly became my favorite – the Mint White Chocolate Chip Matcha, particularly the iced version. Described by Black Sheep as a blend of fresh mint and creamy white chocolate, this festive twist on a matcha classic is smooth, sweet, and playful. Despite not being a huge matcha enthusiast, this version won me over with its balanced sweetness that offsets the usual bitterness of matcha.
The Mint White Chocolate Chip Matcha reminded me of a Grasshopper cocktail, a mint-flavored after-dinner drink featuring crème de menthe, white crème de cacao, and cream. While it’s the season for cozy warm drinks, I prefer my matcha cold, akin to this delightful concoction.
Moving on to the Gingerbread Latte, it truly encapsulated the essence of Christmas for me. This classic winter beverage, available in both hot and iced versions, combines warming spices and sweet gingerbread syrup with velvety espresso to create a nostalgic holiday treat. The rich coffee flavor, perfect balance of spice and sweetness, topped with whipped cream, makes it a truly indulgent choice.
Another surprising addition to the menu was the Fuji Apple, Ginger & Caramel Red Bull Infusion, launched in celebration of bonfire night. This unique drink reimagines the traditional toffee apple into a flavorful concoction featuring juicy Fuji apple, fiery ginger, sweet caramel, and a kick of Red Bull. Despite not being a regular Red Bull consumer, I found this drink reminiscent of a delicious toffee apple cider, making it a perfect fit for a bonfire night celebration.
In addition to the beverages, we also sampled the Pigs in Blanket Ciabatta and the Brie & Cranberry Toastie. While these savory options were tasty, they felt quite standard for a coffee chain’s sandwich offerings. However, the standout items were undoubtedly the innovative and delicious drinks that Black Sheep is renowned for.
Black Sheep Coffee’s Christmas Menu will be rolled out across all its UK locations starting from Wednesday, November 5.
