“Limp Bizkit Bassist Sam Rivers Dies at 48”

Must read

Limp Bizkit’s bassist, Sam Rivers, passed away at the age of 48, as confirmed by the Florida-based nu metal band on a sorrowful Saturday, October 19. The cause of his sudden demise was not disclosed at the time of the announcement.

Just a few months earlier, lead singer Fred Durst had shed light on the band’s name origins. The band took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news, paying tribute to Rivers as more than just a bass player but as an integral part of the band’s essence and music.

This tragic loss follows the recent death of KISS guitarist Ace Frehley at 74, who had a fatal accident shortly after bandmate Gene Simmons survived a crash.

Describing Rivers as a unique and legendary individual, the band expressed their deep sorrow and admiration for his talent and spirit. They promised to cherish his memory and his music eternally.

Rivers’ musical journey intertwined with Limp Bizkit’s history, starting from his teenage years collaborating with drummer John Otto and culminating in the band’s establishment in 1994. Despite facing health challenges due to liver disease, Rivers made a triumphant return to the band in 2018 after receiving a life-saving liver transplant and focusing on his well-being.

The band’s upcoming Gringo Papi South America tour is set to commence shortly, marking a bittersweet moment following Rivers’ passing.
