A mother has been accused of killing her two-year-old son and hiding his body among a pile of laundry and garbage, as revealed in court proceedings. Nichole Lynn Boyer, 28, surrendered to authorities shortly after the police discovered the child’s decomposed remains at her residence. Despite admitting to the authorities, “Just take me to jail,” Boyer pleaded not guilty to intentional homicide during her recent court appearance and has been detained pending further legal procedures.
The court was informed that the child, who suffered from severe disabilities such as spina bifida, club feet, and hydrocephalus, was found in a state of advanced decomposition in Boyer’s house in Lima, Montana. An affidavit noted the foul smell of decomposing human remains upon entry into the cluttered and unsanitary residence, filled with trash, spoiled food, and animal waste.
According to court statements, the child’s body was discovered in an upstairs bedroom, lying on a heap of laundry and refuse next to a mattress and covered with a sweatshirt that Boyer claimed as her own. The room was described as dirty and cold, with an air conditioner running despite the high outside temperature. During questioning by investigators, Boyer confessed to neglecting her son’s care due to being overwhelmed with responsibilities, eventually leading to his tragic demise.
Despite acknowledging her guilt in failing to prioritize her son’s needs, Boyer denied intentionally causing his death during her court appearance. Law enforcement officials revealed that Boyer was aware of her son’s passing for weeks but convinced herself he was still alive until eventually contacting the authorities.
