Nigel Farage, after his critical remarks about Britain in front of the US Congress, was seen smiling alongside President Donald Trump in the Oval Office, indicating his support for ‘Team Trump,’ as noted by a body language expert.
During his speech in Washington DC, the leader of Reform UK strongly denounced British online safety and hate speech laws, likening the situation in his home country to that of North Korea. Despite positioning himself as a champion of free speech, Farage expressed concern over the authoritarian state in Britain.
However, when questioned by Democrat Jamie Raskin about his stance on banning reporters with differing views, Farage appeared less confident, potentially contradicting his pro-free speech stance. Furthermore, Congressman Jared Moskowitz challenged Farage on his meeting with President Trump and the potential tensions arising from his support for releasing the Epstein Files.
Following the meeting, photos surfaced showing Farage in apparent awe of President Trump, according to body language expert Judi James. The expert noted Farage’s posture as more formal than relaxed, indicating admiration for Trump but lacking signs of genuine friendship between the two politicians.
Farage faced criticism during the congressional hearing, being labeled a “Putin-loving free speech imposter” and a “Trump sycophant.” Back in the UK, his absence from Prime Minister’s Questions drew condemnation from PM Keir Starmer, who accused Farage of being unpatriotic for badmouthing the country in the US and allegedly lobbying for sanctions against Britain.
