Apple has officially unveiled its latest smartphone, the iPhone 17e, fulfilling the expectations of many. Following the iPhone 16e, this new model continues Apple’s trend of providing essential features at a more budget-friendly price compared to its flagship counterparts.
Priced at £599, the iPhone 17e is significantly more affordable than the iPhone 17 and £500 cheaper than the 17 Pro. It now comes with a standard 256GB storage capacity, twice the base storage offered by its predecessor.
The iPhone 17e boasts enhanced performance, powered by the speedy A19 chip, a notable upgrade from the A18 processor in the 16e. It incorporates Apple’s latest C1X cellular modem, promising speeds twice as fast as the previous model, enabling faster downloads and smoother streaming on cellular networks.
Featuring a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with vibrant visuals, the iPhone 17e is equipped with Apple’s durable Ceramic Shield glass for protection against everyday wear and tear. Improved anti-glare technology enhances visibility in bright conditions.
MagSafe, a notable addition absent in the 16e, enables faster wireless charging and easy attachment of compatible accessories like wallets and stands to the phone’s back.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the 48MP Fusion camera on the iPhone 17e, providing advanced sensor capabilities for improved zooming and composition. The camera also supports 4K video recording with Dolby Vision at up to 60 frames per second.
Safety features are a priority, with emergency SOS via satellite for sending messages without cellular coverage and Crash Detection for automatic contact with emergency services in case of a serious car accident.
Available in black, white, and a new soft pink finish, the iPhone 17e is priced starting at £599. Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing, emphasized the device’s powerful performance, enhanced features, and exceptional value, making it an appealing choice for customers seeking to upgrade within the iPhone 17 family.
