Apple has recently unveiled its latest smartphone, the iPhone 17e, offering significant enhancements at an attractive price point. Priced at £599, the device is powered by the speedy A19 processor and features MagSafe charging, a durable design, and a standout single-lens camera. Notably, this price tag is £200 lower than Apple’s flagship iPhone model.
In a similar vein, Samsung has announced the release of its new A57 and A37 smartphones, starting at a more budget-friendly price point of £399. While these models may not match the performance and innovative charging capabilities of the iPhone 17e, they do boast a large 6.7-inch screen with advanced 120Hz technology, surpassing the 60Hz display on the 17e in terms of smoothness during tasks like web browsing, email handling, and gaming.
The Galaxy phones from Samsung also feature substantial 5,000mAh batteries, triple lens cameras, and a robust P68 water and dust resistance design. For users keen on integrating AI into their daily lives, Samsung has integrated smart features into the A37 and A57 devices, such as Google’s Circle to Search for quick web searches and enhanced photo editing tools like Object Eraser, Best Face, and Edit Suggestions for effortless photo enhancement and sharing.
Moreover, the phones introduce an upgraded Voice Transcription function within the Voice Recorder app, enabling users to transcribe or translate call recordings swiftly and convert voicemail messages into text for easier reference to important details from meetings or conversations.
Samsung has committed to providing extended support for its products, with the Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G set to receive up to six generations of Android OS and One UI updates, along with six years of security patches. Both models will be available for purchase on Samsung.com starting April 10th, with the Galaxy A57 5G priced from £529 (256GB) and the Galaxy A37 5G starting at £399 (128GB).
The Galaxy A57 5G will be offered in colors like Awesome Navy, Awesome Grey, Awesome Icyblue, and Awesome Lilac, while the Galaxy A37 5G will come in hues like Awesome Lavender, Awesome Charcoal, Awesome Greygreen, and Awesome White.
Annika Bizon, VP of Product and Marketing at Samsung’s Mobile Experience Division, emphasized the importance of democratizing AI technology, stating, “Getting AI into the hands of more people matters just as much as pushing the boundaries of what it can do. By combining Samsung’s core capabilities with Awesome Intelligence, the Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G deliver everyday performance while showcasing the real benefits of AI.”
