“Tiger Woods Takes Golf Hiatus After Seventh Back Surgery”

Must read

Tiger Woods has announced a hiatus from golf following a recent back surgery in October. This procedure marks his seventh back surgery, in addition to three major operations in the past two years involving his Achilles and ankle.

Despite his 2019 Masters victory, ending an 11-year Major drought, Woods has been hampered by ongoing injuries. While he recently hosted the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, he acknowledges that a return to competitive play is distant.

Joking about a hectic schedule, Woods later expressed a more serious tone, emphasizing the need to focus on his recovery before planning future tournaments. He recently received clearance to resume chipping and putting, with gradual progress expected as he regains strength and mobility post-disc replacement.

Looking ahead, Woods aims to surpass golf legend Sam Snead’s record of 82 PGA tournament wins. Notah Begay III, a close associate of Woods, highlighted the challenge of walking the course as a significant hurdle in his comeback journey.
