Nathan Sykes Weds Charlotte Burke in Yorkshire

Must read

Nathan Sykes was moved to tears as his beautiful fiancée, Charlotte Burke, made her way down the aisle at St Mary’s Church in Birdsall, North Yorkshire, on October 11. Recalling the moment he saw his bride for the first time, The Wanted star Nathan, aged 32, described it as a breathtaking experience as Clair De Lune by Debussy played in the background while Charlotte was illuminated in the church doorway with her father. It was a sight he described as the most beautiful he had ever seen.

In their first joint interview with OK! magazine, HR manager Charlotte, aged 30, shared how the wedding weekend was perfect, with ideal weather conditions and a serene atmosphere. Despite the flawless day, the couple faced some pre-wedding stress due to the immense pressure that comes with planning a wedding.

Charlotte, who took charge of most of the wedding planning with support from the Birdsall House team, struggled to find the perfect dress until she visited TDR Bridal in Birmingham, where she fell in love with a classic white Justin Alexander Mikado dress with a chapel-length train. Nathan opted for a suit from Reiss, complemented by a Gucci bow tie, a cherished gift from Charlotte. For her evening attire, Charlotte chose a stunning gold gown from Champagne and Lace Bridal Wear in Louth.

The couple carefully curated their guest list, inviting 61 close friends and family members, including Nathan’s The Wanted bandmate Jay McGuiness. The wedding was a safe and comfortable space for both Nathan and Charlotte, with three best men by Nathan’s side, creating a relaxing environment.

Reflecting on the absence of his bandmates Siva Kaneswaran and Max George at the wedding, Nathan expressed uncertainty about their awareness of the wedding date due to their commitments in America. He mentioned that they had not connected recently but hoped to catch up soon.

The couple also remembered their late bandmate, Tom Parker, during the celebration, acknowledging the impact he had on their lives and feeling his presence in spirit during the special day.

Before the wedding, Nathan and Charlotte spent an evening with close friends and family at a local pub, setting the tone for the joyous occasion. They decided to spend their final night together before the wedding to support each other through their nerves and excitement.

On the wedding day, as Charlotte and her family prepared for the ceremony, Nathan found himself in a rush after a relaxing massage turned into a last-minute panic. Despite some minor mishaps, including a situation where some of the bridesmaids got locked in a room, the wedding proceeded smoothly.

The couple exchanged traditional vows and rings, including a custom-made wedding ring that extended Charlotte’s engagement ring. The day was filled with unconventional elements, such as guests being transported back to the reception on a trailer towed by a tractor, adding a touch of humor to the celebration.

The wedding featured a plant-based menu catered by local chef Tom Coe, eschewing a traditional wedding cake in favor of scones and sticky toffee pudding. The couple enjoyed their first dance to Shania Twain’s From This Moment On, followed by an outdoor fireworks display to end the night on a magical note.

As they reflected on their dream wedding day, Charlotte and Nathan expressed their gratitude for the perfect weekend, describing it as the best day of their lives and more. Their honeymoon plans are yet to be finalized, but the couple is basking in the joy of their unforgettable wedding celebration.
