Aldi has integrated InPost Lockers into over 500 of its stores throughout the UK. These lockers provide a convenient way for customers to pick up and return online orders while doing their routine grocery shopping. The InPost lockers are now available in 536 Aldi stores across England, Scotland, and Wales.
The supermarket chain plans to expand the availability of these lockers to more stores in the upcoming months, with a target of having at least 600 stores equipped with lockers by the end of the year. Aldi, which operates over 1,050 stores, aims to enhance convenience and efficiency for its customers through this initiative.
Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, emphasized the importance of time-saving solutions for shoppers and highlighted the value of combining parcel services with regular shopping activities.
In partnership with InPost UK, Aldi aims to enhance the overall shopping experience for customers by providing a more convenient and sustainable way to manage parcels. The collaboration reflects a joint effort to simplify parcel collection and returns for shoppers across the UK.
Aldi recently disclosed a list of priority locations across the UK for new store openings, specifying requirements such as size, parking spaces, and accessibility. Additionally, the supermarket is seeking suitable sites in Central London for its Aldi Local store format.
Individuals with potential sites meeting Aldi’s criteria are encouraged to contact realestateacquisitions@aldi.co.uk. This expansion initiative is part of a £650 million investment this year, aligned with Aldi’s long-term goal of reaching 1,500 stores in the UK.
Moreover, Aldi increased hourly rates for store assistants earlier this year, with minimum rates rising to £12.75 and £14.05 within the M25 area. Further pay raises for store colleagues are planned for September 2025, aiming to set minimum rates at £12.85 per hour nationally and £14.16 per hour within the M25 zone.
