A prominent online beauty retailer may be up for sale as it has engaged advisors to conduct a thorough business review.
Established in 1999 in Manchester by siblings Arron and David Gabbie, Beauty Bay offers a wide range of products from over 200 brands, including popular names like Ariana Grande, Clinique, MAC, and its own product line.
According to a recent report from Sky News, Beauty Bay is exploring various financial options, including seeking new funding or a potential sale of the company. Interpath, an advisory firm, is collaborating with Beauty Bay on this endeavor.
Currently employing 65 individuals, Beauty Bay has been approached for comments by the Mirror.
In other news, the beauty brand Malin + Goetz has entered administration, leading to the closure of its seven stores across London. This development is expected to affect over 70 jobs, with online orders temporarily halted. Customers can still purchase Malin + Goetz items from retailers like Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK.
A spokesperson for Malin + Goetz stated that after a thorough review and exploring all options, the decision to place the UK business into administration was made, resulting in store closures and job losses.
The brand’s website is expected to resume operation after a brief maintenance period. Originally founded in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, Malin + Goetz has expanded from six initial products to include fragrance, bodycare, and other beauty offerings.
