“PDC Addresses Audience Composition at Saudi Darts Masters”

Must read

The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has issued a statement addressing the composition of the audience at the Saudi Arabia Darts Masters following comments made by Nathan Aspinall suggesting otherwise.

The tournament kicked off with notable players like Luke Littler, Michael van Gerwen, and Luke Humphries in participation, alongside Aspinall. Following his victory over Lourence Ilagan, Aspinall shared his perspective on the event’s ambiance, hinting that some attendees might not have been fully present by choice.

In response to Aspinall’s remarks, the PDC clarified that all spectators present were enthusiastic fans. The PDC emphasized that this event marked a new frontier for darts in the region, attracting many first-time live darts viewers, thereby creating a different atmosphere compared to established darts events in the UK and Europe.

World champion Luke Littler also commented on the event, noting the quieter atmosphere compared to what he is accustomed to. Despite the subdued environment, Littler managed to secure a win and acknowledged the unique experience of playing in Saudi Arabia.

The PDC assured that all attendees were legitimate ticket holders or invited guests, expressing satisfaction with the strong interest shown for the PDC’s debut in Saudi Arabia.

In a separate development, Sky has enhanced its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle by adding HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+, and Hayu, in addition to offering 135 channels and comprehensive coverage of the Premier League and English Football League (EFL). Sky continues to broadcast over 1,400 live matches across various sports, including the Premier League, EFL, Formula 1, darts, and golf.
