Police have made a disturbing discovery in a package sent by a man suspected of being involved in the death of a British woman who traveled to the United States with the desire to be killed. The woman, identified as Sonia Exelby, had reportedly planned to meet individuals online who were willing to violently end her life. Authorities disclosed that she was known to have struggled with mental health issues and suicidal thoughts. Dwain Hall, a man from Ocala, was arrested and charged with kidnapping and first-degree murder in connection with her death.
Hall allegedly responded to a request made by Ms. Exelby on a fetish website to abuse and kill her. He was arrested for using the woman’s credit cards, and evidence against him was considered substantial during a court hearing where bail was denied. Detectives uncovered incriminating Facebook messages between Hall and a friend in Ohio related to a package that contained a knife with traces of the victim’s blood. It was revealed that Hall and Ms. Exelby had spent time together at an Airbnb property, engaging in multiple sexual encounters. A video found by investigators depicted the victim covered in bruises, answering questions about her desire to be harmed and killed.
Further evidence included a shovel label matching one purchased by Hall before the incident, with police discovering a shovel in his garage containing DNA from both individuals.
