A prominent music artist has made the decision to withdraw from Five’s reunion tour after missing the inaugural show earlier this week. The boy band commenced their tour in Cardiff on Wednesday.
Despite being set to support the band, popular musician and former I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! contestant Naughty Boy was notably absent. He was scheduled to kick off the event with his popular tracks La La La and Runnin’.
Naughty Boy, also known as Shahid Khan, expressed his sincere apologies for having to step back from the tour, citing his inability to join Sean Conlon, Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson, Abz Love, and Jason J Brown on their Keep On Movin’ 2025 tour.
In a statement, Naughty Boy conveyed his disappointment at not being able to perform, stating, “This decision was not made lightly. I was looking forward to sharing the stage with the boys, but unfortunately, it wasn’t feasible.”
He added, “I deeply apologize to Five, my team, and all the wonderful fans for any inconvenience caused. I am eagerly anticipating the tour and the opportunity to see you all when I am in better health – thank you.”
The artist was announced as Five’s support act in March, but he failed to make an appearance on stage as expected, leaving fans let down.
Reports suggest that all of Naughty Boy’s equipment was set up on stage, awaiting his performance, as eager fans filled the venue in anticipation of his show.
Earlier this year, Five thrilled fans by announcing their comeback after their split in 2001. The group, which had previously performed as a trio consisting of Ritchie, Sean, and Scott, has reunited in various capacities over the years.
Sharing the news on social media, the group wrote, “The five of us are reuniting for a UK tour! After 25 years, this feels like the right time for all of us – and we are incredibly excited about it.”
Reflecting on the reunion, J revealed that reconnecting with Abz and Sean after a decade of silence was the catalyst for the reunion. The group’s members expressed their joy at coming together naturally for the first time since 2001.
They emphasized that their focus was on rebuilding their friendships rather than just embarking on a tour. The excitement of reconnecting as friends paved the way for the opportunity to tour together once again.
