Sky NOW Broadband Users to Face £3 Monthly Price Hike

Must read

Most of the major TV and internet providers in the UK have recently raised their prices for 2025, with a significant portion of the increases taking effect in April. Sky has now announced another price hike, particularly affecting users of its NOW broadband service.

The price adjustments, set to go into effect on July 4, were initially disclosed in May for users on Brilliant Broadband, Fab Fibre, and Super Fibre plans through NOW. Subscribers to these plans should anticipate a monthly increase of £3 on their bills.

Acknowledging the potential dissatisfaction among customers, a spokesperson for NOW expressed understanding, stating, “We recognize that price rises are never well-received. However, in order to enhance and invest in our services, we are required to adjust our pricing. Starting July 4, the monthly fees for our NOW legacy Broadband products, including Fab Fibre, Super Fibre, and Brilliant Broadband plans, will each rise by £3.”

Initially offering users the option to terminate their service without incurring fees, NOW specified that this opportunity was available within 31 days of notification. Customers are advised to review their email correspondence to determine if they are still within this timeframe and can switch to a different provider without penalty.

Apart from facilitating provider switches, NOW emphasizes that the price adjustments reflect its ongoing efforts to enhance services and products. The company attributes the price hikes to escalating cost pressures across various aspects of its operations, such as wholesale expenses and investments aimed at service improvement.

For NOW customers, it is recommended to review their contracts for any potential implications. Even for non-NOW subscribers, exploring alternative service providers is advisable. Besides the prominent options like BT, Virgin, and Sky, numerous smaller networks are emerging across the UK, often offering faster speeds at competitive rates.

For instance, Community Fibre is presently providing free broadband for an initial three-month period. To explore available Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in your locality, utilize Ofcom’s postcode checker tool for potentially enhanced download speeds and cost savings.
