“Corrie Star Maureen Lipman’s Wedding Disrupted by Government Alert”

Must read

Maureen Lipman, one of the stars of the popular show Corrie, tied the knot with her fiancé David Turner on a lovely Sunday last week. Despite the beautiful pictures from the ceremony, a government action caused a disruption during the event.

The 79-year-old Maureen looked stunning in pink attire as she exchanged vows with her 79-year-old partner David. The couple, who got engaged a year ago during a train journey, showcased a meticulously planned wedding day adorned with white and pink flowers complementing Maureen’s elegant dress. David looked dapper in a dark grey suit and a kippah. However, not everything went smoothly.

The wedding was momentarily disturbed by a nationwide government emergency alert that caused “sirens” to sound from guests’ phones, interrupting the solemn service. Fortunately, everyone had been forewarned about the situation, as shared by Maureen’s former Gogglebox partner Gyles Brandreth on This Morning. He mentioned a sweet message from the Prime Minister, orchestrating the nationwide alert to coincide with the wedding.

Gyles also disclosed the date of Maureen’s wedding on his podcast, Rosebud, expressing excitement about attending the nuptials. Maureen humorously highlighted the combined age of 156 between herself and David, emphasizing the joy of getting married at this stage of their lives.

Reflecting on their engagement, Maureen humorously recounted how she proposed to David on a train journey following a Jewish tradition. Previously married to scriptwriter Jack Rosenthal, Maureen shared that all their children had warm and unique reactions to the news of their marriage.
