Amazon is rolling out a significant free upgrade for select Fire TV Stick models to enhance user experience. The update includes a modern interface with updated typography, redesigned color gradients, and improved layouts on the homescreen, promising up to 30 percent performance improvements in navigation speed. Users can now pin up to 20 apps on the home screen, and access to various features like Games, Art & Photos, and the Ambient Experience has been streamlined through the Menu button on the remote.
Additionally, a new shortcut panel accessible by long-pressing the Home button provides quick access to Fire TV controls. Amazon is introducing Alexa+, an upgraded assistant aiming to improve content discovery and intuitiveness. The update will initially roll out in the U.S., with plans to expand to more regions, including the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen), and Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series, followed by other devices and countries later in the spring.
Amazon is also revamping the Fire TV mobile app to allow users to browse content, manage watchlists, and play titles on their TVs directly. The app will serve as a second screen for discovering new shows and adding recommendations to watchlists while away from home, remaining free to download.
