The fraudsters posed as her daughter, AJ, claiming to have dropped her phone down the toilet and urgently needing £1,600 to pay a bill. Despite initially falling for the ruse, Nicky grew suspicious when the scammer’s messages did not align with her daughter’s usual communication style.
