Co-op is preparing to launch 11 new stores this week, covering various locations from Bristol to the Scottish Highlands. Notably, Co-op will be the inaugural permanent retailer at the new Brent Cross Town development in London.

These new store openings include a mix of fresh outlets, franchise-operated stores, and revamped locations. This initiative is part of Co-op’s extensive plan to invest in over 200 new and upgraded stores by 2024/25.

The recent announcement adds to the 50 stores that Co-op previously confirmed would open in November and December, just in time for the festive season. In response, Co-op is urging the government to implement business rates reform in the upcoming Budget.

Kate McCrae, Co-op Operations Director, emphasized the company’s commitment to establishing local stores that serve as community hubs, providing convenience and meeting local needs. She highlighted Co-op’s dedication to supporting local economies, creating jobs, and championing British suppliers.

Furthermore, Co-op unveiled a range of new benefits for its membership scheme, including personalized offers, enhanced discounts, member-exclusive games, reward systems, and special deals. Members stand to save over £90 across October, November, and December, with monthly prize draws based on in-store and online spending.

Rachel Halter, Director of Membership at Co-op, stressed the company’s focus on delivering added value to its members through expanded personalized offers and engaging features like booster offers and in-app games.

In conclusion, Co-op’s ongoing efforts aim to enhance customer experience, offer significant savings, and reward loyal members.
