A deceased man found buried under a concrete slab with a gunshot wound in Las Vegas has been identified after being undiscovered for a decade. The remains were confirmed to be those of Chester Williams, discovered on August 26, 2021, as a homeowner was breaking up the concrete.
Authorities disclosed that Williams had perished from a gunshot wound to the head and had likely been interred for at least ten years. A breakthrough in the case came after a tip-off on July 29 led investigators to a potential identity for the victim.
The informant, a woman, revealed that Williams had resided with her parents before disappearing between 1998 and 1999. She mentioned that her parents lived on the same street where Williams was found and recalled them pouring concrete at the location of his disappearance.
Mohave County Sheriff’s officials shared that the woman’s parents, Alvin and Bea Hamilton, passed away in 2006 and 2018, respectively. Recent DNA testing confirmed the victim’s identity as Chester Williams.
In a separate incident, a man named Christopher Caron was apprehended for allegedly transporting a deceased individual to a hospital in Weymouth, Massachusetts, before fleeing the scene. Caron parked a black Honda Civic at the hospital’s entrance, informing staff of the body in the backseat before absconding.
Investigations revealed that the deceased, Declan Perry, aged 27 and from Portland, was found wrapped in blankets and taped with duct tape in the vehicle. Police noted that Caron and Perry were acquainted, with witnesses recalling assisting Caron in loading a large blanket into the car.
Law enforcement conducted a search of Caron’s residence, seizing various pieces of evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.
