“Florida couple arrested for child neglect in Palm Bay residence”

Must read

A Florida couple was taken into custody following a police operation at their residence in Palm Bay, where officers discovered six children confined in rooms filled with excrement. The stench was so overpowering that law enforcement officers struggled to breathe. Nathan Forczyk and Laura Forczyk were both charged with six counts of child neglect and later released on bail from Brevard County Jail.

Upon entering the house, authorities found the children locked in separate rooms with no access to essential resources like food, water, or restroom facilities. The conditions were described as distressing, with reports indicating that the investigation was initiated after Mr. Forczyk sought help from the Florida Department of Children and Families. Subsequently, law enforcement officials responded to the location.

Each child was found locked in a room containing only a child-sized potty training toilet. The property was in severe disrepair, with missing walls exposing live wiring and a pervasive smell of excrement. Palm Bay Police Department labeled the home as “unsafe, unsanitary, and hazardous” for the children’s health, acknowledging the family’s dire need for assistance and unfortunate circumstances.

A police report highlighted the deteriorated state of the property, mentioning the presence of urine and feces throughout the home, along with visible damage like ripped-off drywall and hazardous conditions. The Forczyks are scheduled to appear in court on September 30, with a condition of their bail prohibiting contact with each other or the children.

Although court documents did not disclose the children’s identities or their relationship with the couple, a neighbor, Lacey Price, recalled a previous visit to the property where she noticed concerning odors. She expressed surprise at the situation and emphasized the importance of reaching out for help in such circumstances.
