“Google Introduces Feature Allowing Gmail Users to Change Email Addresses”

Must read

Millions of Gmail users are now receiving a significant update from Google. The tech giant has officially announced the rollout of a new feature allowing users to change their email addresses, offering a solution for those unhappy with their current Gmail account name.

Google stated, “Your digital identity has been enhanced.” Users now have the ability to modify their Google Account username (the part before @gmail.com) used for accessing various services such as Gmail, Photos, Drive, and more.

One advantage of this update is that both the original and new email addresses will function simultaneously, ensuring that users do not miss any incoming messages sent to either account.

Moreover, Google assures users that their stored data, including photos, previous messages, and old emails, will remain unaffected by the change.

Although this update is a welcome change, it is currently only available in the United States, leaving users in the UK waiting for its arrival.

For users in the US, Google recommends navigating to the personal info section in their Google account settings. By selecting the email option and then the Google account email, users can access the option to change their email address to a new and unique one. It is important to note that users can only create a new email address once every 12 months.

To check if the update is available for your account, review your settings and follow the provided steps as outlined by Google.
