“Gregg Wallace Denied Entry to I’m a Celebrity After BBC Dismissal”

Must read

ITV executives have vetoed Gregg Wallace from participating in the upcoming season of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, despite his expressed interest on social media. Following his announcement of legal action against the BBC for his dismissal, Wallace shared his willingness to join the jungle show in a TikTok video where he responded positively to a fan’s question about appearing in the series.

Despite his openness to the opportunity, Wallace mentioned that he has not been formally approached regarding the show. Sources from ITV have firmly stated that Wallace will not be considered for the popular program filmed in Australia, indicating a definitive rejection of his participation.

The decision comes in the midst of Wallace’s legal dispute with the BBC over his firing due to inappropriate behavior. The BBC has responded by stating they have not been officially informed of any legal proceedings at this stage.

Wallace’s dismissal from MasterChef earlier this year was a result of upheld complaints of inappropriate conduct, leading to his removal from the long-running show he co-hosted with John Torode. Wallace has since been vocal on social media about the lack of support he received on the show and revealed his autism diagnosis, highlighting the failure to address his disability during his tenure.

An independent review conducted by production company Banijay acknowledged Wallace’s autism diagnosis and admitted to shortcomings in managing and addressing his inappropriate behavior. Recent developments reveal that food critic Grace Dent and chef Anna Haugh will take over as judges on the main MasterChef show, while Matt Tebbutt has replaced Wallace on MasterChef: The Professionals alongside Monica Galetti and Marcus Wareing.
