“Kamala Harris Eyes Another Presidential Run, Declares ‘I Am Not Done'”

Must read

Kamala Harris is contemplating another presidential run, expressing her determination by stating she is “not done.” The former Vice President, who was defeated by Donald Trump in the 2024 election, hinted strongly to the BBC that she may pursue the presidency again in the future.

During an interview with Laura Kuenssberg, Harris conveyed her belief that a female president could emerge in the lifetime of her grandnieces, possibly hinting at herself. She emphasized her unwavering commitment to public service, stating, “I am not done.” Despite being considered an underdog by bookmakers in the race for the Democratic Presidential nomination, polls indicate she leads the pack, with a national polling average placing her 3.6 points ahead of her closest competitor, California Governor Gavin Newsom. Pete Buttigieg, the former Transport Secretary under President Biden, trails behind in third place with only 9.6%.

Regarding her stance on polls, Harris expressed skepticism, noting that if she had heeded polls earlier in her political career, she might not have pursued her previous offices. She also criticized Trump, labeling him a “tyrant” and pointing out instances where his behavior aligned with fascist tendencies, particularly in targeting individuals like late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel.

Harris also called out business leaders who complied with Trump’s demands, highlighting a list published by the White House identifying companies and individuals who financially supported the construction of Trump’s extravagant ballroom. She condemned these actions, describing them as submission to a tyrant for various reasons such as seeking proximity to power or avoiding scrutiny.

The full interview with Kamala Harris will air on Sunday morning as part of Ms. Kuenssberg’s BBC One program.
