A high-end dining establishment in Manchester has made a fresh request to its customers regarding the use of its restrooms, after an influx of people taking photos in what are being hailed as the city’s finest lavatories.
The Cut and Craft steak and champagne venue opened in the historic former Manchester and Salford Bank building on Mosley Street in April, following a significant £3.5 million renovation. The management unveiled a striking dining area in the former bank hall, while the underground bank vaults were transformed into luxurious toilets.
The women’s facilities boast a large mirror perfect for selfies, along with a makeup area equipped with stools and well-lit mirrors. During the grand opening, notable figures and influencers were seen queuing to capture photos inside the washrooms.
The allure of the lavatories has continued at the restaurant, with guests eager to take their own mirror selfies in the opulent ambiance. The popularity of the facilities has led management to enforce a time restriction, urging women to be prompt in the washrooms.
Signs have been posted outside the women’s restrooms stipulating a limit of five minutes per visit. The notice, starting with a “Polite Notice” declaration, emphasizes the need for timely restroom access to accommodate all guests.
While no such notice or time restriction exists in the men’s toilets, the management has defended the decision, citing safety regulations as the reason for the time limit. The Operations Director, Darioush Shahidi, highlighted the importance of ensuring everyone can access the facilities efficiently while maintaining compliance with fire safety protocols.
The restaurant, known for its top-quality steaks and wines, has quickly become a popular destination in Manchester since its launch. Situated in a grand banking hall with impressive features, the establishment marks the company’s third successful venture under their “accessible luxury” brand.
The venue recently poked fun at the widespread appeal of its toilets in Manchester, sharing a video of the restroom on Instagram with a playful caption. Despite the lavatories’ popularity, the focus remains on the exceptional dining experience offered, with affordable two and three-course menus available.
