Maura Higgins Bids Farewell to Reality TV

Maura Higgins has officially announced her departure from reality TV, turning down offers from several popular UK shows. The 34-year-old former Love Island and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant revealed that she has achieved her TV goals and is not interested in participating in Big Brother or Strictly Come Dancing.

“I’ve completed all the shows I wanted to do. I’ve declined offers from Big Brother, Celebs Go Dating multiple times, and MasterChef,” Maura stated when asked about her remaining wishlist shows.

Since her stint on Love Island in 2019, Maura has ventured into other TV projects such as Dancing On Ice, I’m A Celebrity, and Celebrity Traitors US. Despite being approached for major UK shows like Strictly Come Dancing, Maura is firm in her decision to step away from reality TV.

Regarding her recent acting debut in the film The Spin, where she portrayed the character Rose, Maura admitted to finding the experience challenging yet enjoyable. She mentioned the difficulties of transforming into a different character and expressed nerves about her performance in the movie.

While reflecting on her acting aspirations, Maura candidly shared that she doesn’t believe she has a natural talent for acting and is unsure about pursuing further roles. She emphasized her readiness to explore new opportunities beyond reality television, highlighting her willingness to tackle challenges outside her comfort zone.

Maura’s decision to move away from reality TV aligns with her desire to embrace fresh ventures and experiences, signaling a shift towards different career paths.
