“New Aero 4K Box Offers Free TV Channels, On-Demand Content”

Must read

Homes seeking TV options without monthly fees now have expanded choices. Freely, initially introduced in 2024, promised live channel access through broadband. Initially limited to select new TVs, the availability of Freely has grown in the past 18 months, with manufacturers like Hisense, Toshiba, and Sharp now offering it. Until recently, viewers interested in live and on-demand content through Freely had to purchase a new TV.

Fortunately, a new Freely-powered set-top box called Aero 4K, developed by Manhattan’s technology team, now enables this service on existing TVs. The Aero 4K device provides over 60 free live channels and on-demand content without the need for costly subscriptions.

Noteworthy features of this box include voice search, viewing recommendations, a comprehensive TV guide, and the ability to pause live content. Additionally, users who have subscriptions to services like Disney+ and Netflix can access these apps through the device.

Priced at £69.99, the Aero 4K has been well-received by consumers. Currys is the first UK retailer to offer the Manhattan Aero 4K, with the latest update indicating it is currently “out of stock.”

According to Currys, the Manhattan Aero 4K was quickly sold out but will be restocked soon. Interested buyers can sign up on the Currys website for alerts when the product becomes available again. It is expected that other retailers such as Amazon and John Lewis will also start selling the device shortly.

Once back in stock, the Aero 4K will compete with devices like Virgin’s Stream box and Sky Stream, which eliminate the need for aerials or dishes by delivering shows, sports, and movies via the internet.

Transitioning to streaming offers benefits such as easier installation without requiring a technician visit and more frequent updates.

The TV landscape is evolving rapidly, with Freely reporting over a million users. As more people shift from traditional viewing methods to streaming, this user base is likely to expand.
