Oasis is currently halfway through their extensive Live ’25 reunion tour, having completed the US leg last weekend. The band is gearing up for two shows in Mexico City on September 12th and 13th before heading back to the UK for two additional dates at London’s Wembley Stadium.
Liam and Noel Gallagher wrapped up their five-show US tour with two nights in Pasadena, California, where they attracted a star-studded audience including Rita Ora, Salma Hayek, and Leonardo DiCaprio. A surprising highlight was when music legend Sir Paul McCartney was caught on video standing and filming Noel’s performance of “Little By Little.”
Attending the concert with his wife, Nancy Shevell, the 83-year-old Beatles icon summed up the show with a single word, calling it “fabulous.” Despite the positive review, observations were made that McCartney seemed to be the only one standing and fully engaged in the performance while others around him remained seated and less enthusiastic.
Questions arose regarding McCartney’s seating placement at the back of Pasadena’s Rose Bowl stadium, with some suggesting he should have been given VIP seats. However, footage revealed a private booth behind him, indicating his tickets were indeed premium.
Fans watching the video shared mixed reactions, with some expressing surprise at McCartney’s seating choice, while others defended it as part of the VIP experience. The Beatles’ influence on Oasis was evident during the tour, with the band incorporating a snippet of “Octopus’ Garden” into their own song, “Whatever.”
In a humorous nod to McCartney, Noel had previously joked about an Oasis comeback single being possible only if McCartney wrote it. The presence of the Beatles legend at the gig left fans marveling at the significance for the Gallagher brothers to have one of their idols in the audience, calling it a surreal full-circle moment and likening McCartney to an elder wizard overseeing his protégés.
