Oliver Bearman, a prominent figure in Formula 1, has recently disregarded rumors connecting him to Ferrari, as Lewis Hamilton’s challenging season continues. The seven-time world champion has faced difficulties with the renowned team, culminating in a non-finish at the Brazilian Grand Prix in the last race.
Hamilton’s challenging season hit a low point in Las Vegas when he qualified in the last position on the grid, marking the first time a Ferrari has been in such a position since 2009. This has fueled speculation about Hamilton’s future, especially as Haas driver Oliver Bearman continues to impress in his debut season on the grid.
Despite ongoing discussions about their futures, rookie Bearman has shown nothing but respect for Hamilton and has urged for calm among those pushing for him to join Ferrari. Bearman achieved his best F1 result by securing fourth place at the Mexico City Grand Prix and followed it up with a sixth-place finish in Brazil, placing him 11th in the drivers’ standings.
When asked about his potential future with Ferrari and the possibility of joining the team if a seat opens up, Bearman provided a straightforward response. He emphasized the fluctuating nature of media speculation and expressed his focus on delivering consistent good results for his team.
Bearman also downplayed his success in Mexico as “lucky,” highlighting the need for realistic expectations going forward. Despite the fortunate outcome, he remains determined to continue striving for strong performances and points for his team in future races.
There has been increasing pressure for Bearman to secure a spot at Ferrari, with voices like former world champion Jacques Villeneuve and F1 pundit Kravitz suggesting that Bearman could potentially replace Hamilton at Ferrari in the future. The former Haas team principal, Guenther Steiner, also praised Bearman’s performance and hinted at the possibility of him moving to a leading team if Ferrari doesn’t offer him a seat.
Hamilton’s struggles at Ferrari, with no podium finishes in 21 races, have intensified the spotlight on him, especially with his teammate Leclerc claiming multiple top-three finishes. The upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix will be the next challenge for both Hamilton and Bearman.
