“Overturned Lorry Fire Halts M6 Traffic Chaos”

Must read

Emergency services responded to a fiery incident involving an overturned lorry on a busy motorway earlier today. The M6’s northbound section between J37 Kendal and J39 Shap has been disrupted since the early hours due to the overturned vehicle.

Authorities have closed off roads in the area, with National Highways confirming the release of trapped traffic at the scene. Additionally, lane 3 on the M6 southbound between J38 and J37 has been shut down.

Various emergency response teams, including Cumbria Fire & Rescue, Cumbria Police, National Highways Traffic Officers, and contractors, are on-site managing the aftermath of the crash.

To alleviate the chaos, Highways England has implemented a detour for motorists, directing them to exit at Junction 36 and follow a designated route marked by a hollow diamond symbol on local road signs.

Drivers on the impacted segment of the M6 are advised to seek alternative routes as heavy traffic persists in the area. National Highways explained that the closures were necessary due to the overturned and burning lorry on the M6 northbound stretch between J37 Kendal and J39 Shap in Cumbria.
