Must read

A couple enjoying a thrilling ride at an amusement park sprang into action when they heard distressing screams behind them. The pair realized a young girl’s seatbelt had malfunctioned, prompting them to intervene swiftly. A photo capturing the intense moment has circulated widely on social media.

Chris and Cassie Evins, parents of four, were at Worlds of Fun amusement park in Kansas City, Missouri, on October 11 for what they thought would be a fun day out. While on the Mamba roller coaster, reaching speeds of 75mph and heights of 205ft, they noticed the alarming situation unfolding behind them.

The couple heard the girl seated behind Cassie let out a terrifying scream, signaling that her seatbelt had come undone. Reacting promptly, Chris and Cassie secured the girl by holding her down during the high-speed ride. They strategically adjusted their positions to prevent the girl from being lifted out of her seat during the coaster’s intense movements.

Following the incident, the park conducted a thorough safety inspection, confirming the presence of a secondary restraint system on the ride. The roller coaster was immediately closed for modifications to enhance safety measures before reopening to the public. Additionally, the park assured that the ride’s safety features, including lap bars and seat belts, underwent rigorous checks with no evidence of failure.

Officials reiterated that the lap bars and seat belt buckles were fully functional, with necessary modifications made to certain seat belts to comply with safety standards. The roller coaster underwent another safety review by the Fire Marshall to ensure it met and exceeded all safety requirements before welcoming guests back on the ride.
