Concerns have led to the recall of six models of Tower air fryers due to potential overheating issues that could lead to fires.
These affected air fryers were distributed by various retailers such as Argos, B&M, DID, Lidl, Poundland, Robert Dyas, Tesco, and the Tower Housewares website. The manufacturing dates of these products range from January 2022 to April 2023.
A complete list of the recalled models can be found below. This action follows a recent announcement by a major broadband provider introducing a new £60 charge along with a deadline for compliance.
Consumers who have purchased these air fryers are urged not to use them. To receive a refund or replacement, individuals can register through the Tower Housewares website by locating the model number on the appliance rating label situated at the bottom of the air fryer.
An advisory on the Tower Housewares website emphasizes safety as the top priority, highlighting a voluntary recall due to identified issues with specific Tower air fryer models to ensure the highest safety and quality standards.
A cautionary notice on the Office for Product Safety and Standards website warns of fire risks associated with the air fryers due to potential overheating and ignition during usage, failing to meet the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
