An endearing canine was abandoned and left to fend for herself on the streets following severe mistreatment by her previous owner. The distressed dog, known as Juni, was discovered shivering near the roadside by rescuer Lauren Daigle, who has taken to social media to recount the heartbreaking tale.
Hailing from Nebraska in the US, Lauren has dedicated herself to seeking justice for Juni after uncovering the immense suffering the dog had endured. In a poignant TikTok video, she shared, “I stumbled upon an abandoned dog on the roadside. Little did we realize that she had been shot twice in the head, emaciated but miraculously alive.”
Struggling to hold back tears, she continued, “While driving down the highway today, I found a stray dog. I rushed her to the vet due to bleeding from her mouth. The vet confirmed that she had been shot. The bullets narrowly missed her brain and eye.”
Fortunately, since her rescue, Juni has been welcomed into a warm, caring home where she can finally experience the compassion that humans are capable of showing. A caption accompanying the video reads, “We have more information than we can currently share. She now has a name.”
“She has a bed now. She knows love. Her name is Juni. And she is fighting for every voiceless animal that couldn’t,” the caption continues.
Lauren has reported the situation to the police, and the previous owners have been identified. She expressed, “Yesterday, she wagged her tail, brightening my day. I am eagerly anticipating the joy returning to her eyes. We have met with the breeder and identified the previous owner, compiling evidence to present to the sheriffs in both counties as our initial step.”
