Terrifying video footage captured a dramatic incident involving a runaway tipper lorry colliding with a garbage truck and multiple cars at a set of traffic lights in Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. The accident occurred on Tuesday morning, October 21st, when the lorry lost control while descending a hill, according to local authorities.
Dashcam footage revealed the moment when the traffic light turned green, signaling the movement of a garbage truck and several cars. Suddenly, the tipper lorry appeared from the left at high speed, crashing into the vehicles and causing significant damage, including the front cabin section of the garbage truck being ripped off, along with mud and debris scattered on the road.
Following the incident, the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department responded promptly after being alerted at 9:07 am, arriving at the scene within nine minutes. Officials reported that the collision involved a tipper lorry, a garbage truck, and two Perodua Myvi cars. Four individuals, including three foreign nationals and a 34-year-old woman, were found injured, having been rescued from their vehicles before the arrival of firefighters.
Subsequent investigations by the police confirmed a total of six individuals injured, which included the 35-year-old local driver of the tipper lorry. One victim sustained a broken leg, as reported by Klang Utara deputy police chief Acting Superintendent Mohd Rahimi Zainol. The authorities detained the lorry driver for questioning and initiated an inquiry into the accident.
In a separate incident earlier this year, a lorry was reported to have veered across the central reservation of a motorway, driving into oncoming traffic in Devon. Peter Stone, a 55-year-old man, narrowly avoided a collision while driving his Porsche 911 between junctions 28 and 29, demonstrating quick reflexes to swerve into the middle lane and evade the oncoming lorry.
