Must read

The identities of two women who tragically died after falling from the Whitby cliffs have been disclosed. Joan Blanchon, 69, and Susan Fawcett, 58, were found deceased near the cliffs last month, part of a series of four individuals who lost their lives by falling from the cliffs within a five-day period. North Yorkshire Police confirmed that Ms. Blanchon was discovered near the Pavillion on July 31, while Ms. Fawcett was found at Sandsend near the main car park on August 2.

The unfortunate deaths of Joan and Susan followed the tragic incident involving David Jeffcock, 80, and his wife Susan, 74, who died on July 30 after falling from the cliffs hand-in-hand. In heartfelt obituaries, the families of Joan and Susan honored the dearly loved women. Ms. Blanchon’s tribute, posted by Roseberry Funeral Service, described her as a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Robert Harrison and Sons Funeral Directors shared a tribute for Ms. Fawcett, highlighting her as a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter.

Friends and family members paid their respects to Ms. Fawcett, expressing their fond memories and condolences for her. North Yorkshire Police clarified that there is no connection between the individual deaths, and inquests have been initiated for all four deaths.
