The global community was stunned when surveillance footage captured a 12-year-old girl returning home from school, only to vanish and be discovered dead in a trunk near her parents’ workplace shortly afterwards.
Further investigations unveiled that she had endured unimaginable horrors, purportedly subjected to rape, torture, and ultimately murder by Dahbia Benkired, an Algerian woman residing in the same apartment complex as the victim’s family and facing deportation from France.
During court proceedings, distressing details emerged about the tragic events leading to the young girl’s demise. Lola Daviet was allegedly assaulted with scissors and a box cutter, had her head partially severed, and suffered asphyxiation after being bound with tape. The attack was allegedly carried out in retaliation against the girl’s mother for refusing to provide Benkired with access to the building.
Medical reports indicated that the schoolgirl sustained 38 wounds to her back and neck, leading to asphyxiation as the cause of death. The court was presented with evidence of the physical and psychological trauma inflicted on the victim, emphasizing the heinous nature of the crime.
