A newly developed Russian nuclear weapon, known as the “flying Chernobyl,” is causing concern as President Donald Trump issues a strong warning to Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
Putin has described the missile, named 9M730 Burevestnik or SSC-X-9 Skyfall by Nato, as invincible. The missile, powered by nuclear energy, was successfully tested last Tuesday, with an effectively unlimited range.
During the weekend, Putin declared Russia’s nuclear forces as the most advanced globally, following the test flight of the Burevestnik missile. In response, Trump criticized the missile testing, emphasizing the need to resolve the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Putin, in a speech at a military command post, confirmed the successful test flight of the nuclear-powered Burevestnik missile, highlighting its unique capabilities and unlimited range.
The missile, dubbed the “Flying Chernobyl,” traveled 8,700 miles during the test, staying airborne for approximately 15 hours. Putin emphasized the missile’s nuclear power and its significant distance coverage.
Despite some doubts about the missile’s effectiveness, Putin announced that the Burevestnik missile has overcome previous challenges and is nearing deployment.
As global tensions escalate, Putin’s aggressive stance, including the conflict in Ukraine, raises concerns. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned of potential threats to Nato countries, with Britain at risk in case of an attack by Russia.
Tusk expressed disappointment over the lack of public reaction in the UK to Russian threats, citing recent incidents targeting prominent figures. He cautioned that Russia’s actions signal readiness for extreme measures.
Furthermore, Tusk warned about the potential deployment of hypersonic Oreshnik ballistic missiles by Russia, posing a threat to European capitals, including London. Despite the challenges, he expressed confidence in Ukraine’s determination to maintain its independence.
In a tragic incident in Kyiv, Ukraine, three people were killed, including a 19-year-old woman and her mother, in a drone attack. The attack also injured multiple individuals, with residential buildings catching fire.
Additionally, Russian air defenses intercepted a drone heading towards Moscow, as reported by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
