“TV Personality Coleen Nolan Opens Up About Family Tragedy”

Must read

TV personality Coleen Nolan has opened up about the transformations she has undergone in recent years following the tragic loss of two of her sisters to cancer. Coleen, a panelist on the popular show Loose Women, is the youngest member of the well-known Nolan sisters, famous for their hit song ‘I’m in the Mood for Dancing’ in 1979.

The family has faced heartbreak with the passing of Linda Nolan earlier this year at the age of 65, two decades after her initial breast cancer diagnosis in 2005. Additionally, Bernie Nolan lost her battle with breast cancer in 2013 at the age of 52.

Moreover, Anne Nolan has battled cancer multiple times. During an episode of the British Skin Foundation’s podcast, Skin, Unfiltered, Coleen discussed her own experience with skin cancer and the impact of losing her sisters on her perspective on life.

Reflecting on the losses she has endured, Coleen shared, “I think if there’s any silver lining to losing loved ones, it’s realizing the brevity and unpredictability of life. I now focus on living in the present rather than worrying about the future.”

In another segment of the podcast, Coleen explained why she initially kept her skin cancer diagnosis private before going public. In 2023, she disclosed that she had been diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma on her shoulder and melanoma on her face during an ITV appearance.

She revealed, “I didn’t want to worry my family, especially during the challenging times we were facing with my sisters. Eventually, my son mentioned it casually, and that’s when my family discovered the truth. I reassured them that everything was under control.”
