Walkers Faces Backlash for Salt Sachet Color Change

Must read

Walkers has sparked outrage among customers by switching the color of salt sachets in their crisp packets from blue to a light-colored version, making them hard to identify. The brand’s Salt and Shake crisps now come with transparent white sachets instead of the traditional blue ones due to manufacturing challenges.

One dissatisfied customer expressed frustration on the Tesco website, mentioning that the change led to an unexpected mouthful of salt while consuming the crisps. They emphasized the importance of the color change for people with specific dietary needs, urging the company to address the issue promptly.

Numerous complaints flooded social media platforms like Twitter, with fans struggling to locate the salt sachets in the new packaging. Calls to return to the original blue sachets were prominent, citing the ease of finding them and the nostalgic value associated with the previous design.

Walkers declined to comment when contacted by The Sun but assured customers on X.com that they would revert to the blue sachets once they become available again. This incident is not isolated, as food enthusiasts have previously voiced discontent over modifications in various products, such as Ribena and Aldi’s Meatsters snack.

Customers of Sainsbury’s and Nestle have also expressed dissatisfaction with changes made to their favorite products. The ongoing trend of recipe alterations in popular brands has led to a wave of discontent among loyal consumers, highlighting the significance of maintaining consistency and meeting customer expectations.
