A woman caused a significant flight delay by engaging in a disruptive altercation in the departure lounge and insisting on sitting next to her partner. The incident occurred on November 2, resulting in a delay of one hour and 40 minutes before the flight could depart.
During the pre-boarding process, the woman and her partner were involved in a heated exchange where accusations of infidelity and inappropriate behavior were exchanged. The woman claimed that her partner had sexually assaulted her multiple times and even presented alleged medical evidence to support her claims.
Upon boarding the Airbus A320 for their flight from Da Nang, Vietnam, to Hong Kong, the couple found themselves seated apart. The woman grew increasingly upset and demanded to be relocated next to her boyfriend. Despite flight attendants explaining that seat assignments were fixed, the woman persisted in her demands, leading to a confrontation captured on video by other passengers.
The situation escalated when the woman allegedly physically pushed a flight attendant, prompting other crew members to intervene and restrain her. Despite warnings to calm down or risk being removed from the flight, the woman reportedly continued her aggressive behavior, resulting in her and her partner being escorted off the plane.
Following their removal, the flight was able to depart and arrived at Hong Kong International Airport approximately 71 minutes later than scheduled. HK Express, known for its cost-effective fares and regional flight network in Asia, operates the flight route.
