Emmerdale actor James Moore recently undertook a challenging climb equivalent to the height of Ben Nevis in honor of his late father, who passed away from multiple myeloma earlier this year. Joined by a team comprising friends, family, and a fellow soap star, James aimed to raise funds for Myeloma UK.
The climb, totaling 1,345 meters, took place in a single day at 270 Climbing Park near Cheltenham. James shared that the idea stemmed from his desire to raise awareness about myeloma following his father’s passing. Reflecting on the experience, he emphasized the sense of community that emerged during the climb, underscoring the emotional significance of the challenge.
Despite encountering a power outage upon arrival at the climbing center, James and his team persevered, eventually completing 100 climbs within three and a half hours. Overcoming physical challenges, including a hip injury, James led the final climb amidst moments of emotional intensity, acknowledging the profound impact of the journey.
As James and his wife Sophie approach their first wedding anniversary, they reflect on the past year, marked by personal loss and unwavering support. Looking ahead, the couple plans to embark on new adventures, including purchasing a home and starting a family, while James remains committed to his role in Emmerdale, hinting at upcoming storylines and expressing gratitude for his ongoing journey in the show.
