“Trump Issues Ultimatum to Zelensky on Peace Deal”

Must read

Donald Trump has conveyed to Volodymyr Zelensky that he must approve of his peace proposal or continue to engage in conflict with Russia in a stern response to Ukraine’s apprehensions.

When questioned by a reporter today about Zelensky’s remarks on the peace agreement aimed at terminating the war, Trump responded.

The Ukrainian leader expressed that the peace plan has presented his nation with a challenging decision, mentioning that Ukraine must opt for either sacrificing dignity or facing the risk of losing a crucial ally.

In reaction to Zelensky’s statements, Trump indicated, “He will need to approve it, and if he is not in favor, then they might as well persist in the fighting, I suppose. Eventually, he will have to agree to something. You recall in the Oval Office, not too long ago, I mentioned, ‘You do not hold the trump cards.'”

Trump has confirmed that next Thursday would be an acceptable deadline for Zelensky to endorse the 28-point peace blueprint. Nonetheless, Zelensky has argued that by endorsing the plan, Ukraine would be stripped of freedom, dignity, and justice.

The leaked plan includes provisions such as Ukraine relinquishing portions of the eastern Donestsk region, downsizing its military, and committing to refrain from joining NATO.

However, Zelensky stated, “I will provide rationale, persuade, and suggest alternatives.”

The proposal is believed to encompass talks between Washington and Moscow, favoring Russia. According to the plan, Ukraine’s armed forces would be reduced from approximately 880,000 troops to 600,000, and the country would be barred from joining NATO.

The plan also asserts Ukraine’s sovereignty and mandates elections within the nation within 100 days.

Additionally, the 28-point plan involves initiating a discussion between Russia and NATO to address security concerns and an expectation that Russia will not encroach on neighboring nations.
