The one-game final will now take place in Winnipeg on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET, marking a return to the format used in previous years. This change was deemed the fairest and most practical way to determine a champion after the best-of-three series could not be completed within the planned timeframe.
The Honey Badgers had won the first two encounters against the Sea Bears earlier in the season. Winnipeg, despite entering the playoffs as underdogs, secured a place in the championship game by defeating strong opponents like the Saskatoon Mamba and the Vancouver Bandits.
The Sea Bears’ impressive playoff run has brought them to the brink of their first championship win. On the other hand, the Honey Badgers have navigated through tough competition, including victories over the Ottawa BlackJacks and the Niagara River Lions, to earn their spot in the final.
