“BT Broadband Customers to Rejoice with Return of BT Mobile”

Must read

BT Broadband customers in the UK are in for a pleasant surprise as BT Mobile is set to re-enter the market after pausing new sign-ups in 2023. Previously, BT had favored its EE network brand, but now there is a noticeable shift in strategy. BT has announced that existing broadband subscribers will soon have access to BT-branded SIM deals once again.

While specific details are yet to be disclosed, this move signifies BT’s commitment to reinforcing the presence of its well-established brand, which had taken a back seat to EE in recent years. CEO Allison Kirkby, who assumed leadership in 2024, is determined to revive BT’s prominence among UK households to prevent the brand from fading into obscurity.

Kirkby emphasized the importance of further investment in BT’s brands, products, and services, following substantial network investments in recent years. The reintroduction of BT Mobile will place the company in direct competition with major providers like Vodafone and O2, as well as budget-friendly networks such as Giffgaff, Tesco Mobile, and SMARTY.

Although pricing details are pending, BT plans to offer bundled services including broadband, landline, and mobile SIM under a unified package with a single monthly bill. Analyst Paolo Pescatore views this move as an effort to stay relevant in a fiercely competitive telecom market where connectivity goes beyond coverage to include resilience, scale, and trust.

Moreover, BT announced its partnership as the official telecoms provider for the UEFA Euro 2028 tournament, which will be held across Britain and Ireland. Pescatore highlighted the significance of this deal as a means to demonstrate BT’s scale, relevance, and delivery capabilities, emphasizing the unifying power of sports in creating shared moments and emotional connections with users, households, and businesses.
