Marvin Brown, a former football player who represented England at Under-16 and Under-17 levels, has passed away at the age of 42. Brown earned his England youth caps during his time at his local club, Bristol City. The Championship club has expressed their condolences for his loss.
“Bristol City received the sad news of Marvin Brown’s passing at the age of 42,” a statement from the club conveyed. Brown became the youngest player for Bristol City at just 16 years and 71 days in September 1999 after joining their academy at eight.
During his time at Bristol City, Brown featured for England Under-16s and Under-17s before moving on to Forest Green Rovers in 2004. A proud Bristolian, Brown established Total Pro Soccer, a youth development center in Bristol, and continued to contribute to Bristol City as an Academy coach, shaping the careers of many Academy graduates.
The football community mourns the passing of Brown, with fans expressing their sorrow and admiration for his contributions. A charity match has been scheduled by Bristol City to honor Brown, with proceeds going towards supporting his family.
Brown, a Bristol native, spent the majority of his playing career in the west and south-west regions of England. Apart from his time at Bristol City, he played for Weston-super-Mare, Forest Green, and Truro, accumulating a significant number of appearances.
A fundraiser has been set up for Brown’s wife and daughters, aiming to alleviate their financial burdens during this challenging time. The community is encouraged to contribute and share the fundraiser to provide support for the family in need.
