“Freeview Users Urged to Retune Devices for Latest Channel Changes”

Must read

Freeview users are advised to promptly review their settings and retune their devices following the recent platform update. The update introduces various changes to the channel lineup and TV guide. Freeview has announced that some broadcasters are implementing adjustments this week, necessitating a retune to ensure channels and the TV guide remain current.

Among the updates are four notable changes. Firstly, three channels have been rebranded with new names, now reflected in the TV guide. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) is now That’s 20th Century, featuring music from previous decades and iconic shows like Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint. That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) has been renamed That’s 20th Century MCR, while That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) is now simply That’s Classics.

In addition to the rebrands, a new channel, That’s Entertainment, will be launched on Channel 75. Detailed program listings for this service are forthcoming.

Freeview emphasizes that these updates are part of ongoing adjustments by broadcasters to keep content fresh and diverse. Users are encouraged to check their TV planner for these changes. If updates are not visible, a retune can be performed by following these steps:

1. Press the menu button on your remote.
2. Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option.
3. Enter your PIN if required (commonly 1234 or 0000).
4. Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune.”
5. Confirm willingness to delete existing channels.
6. The device will automatically scan for and store the updated channels.

While Freeview updates occur regularly, this recent update is significant, underscoring the importance of retuning promptly.
