“Prison Release Fiasco: Two Inmates Mistakenly Freed, Sparking Police Manhunts”

Must read

The Ministry of Justice is facing a crisis as it has been revealed that two prisoners were mistakenly released from the same prison within days of each other. Brahim Kaddour-Cherif, a registered sex offender, was mistakenly released from HMP Wandsworth last week, with the Met Police only being informed six days later. Additionally, another inmate, fraudster William Smith, also known as Billy, was released from the same prison due to a mix-up in court records.

Both individuals are now subjects of police manhunts following the errors in their release. These incidents occurred shortly after another prisoner, Hadush Kebatu, was mistakenly released from HMP Chelmsford on October 24.

Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy, who is also the Justice Secretary, expressed his shock and outrage at the situation. Kaddour-Cherif, an Algerian national, had been in the process of deportation before his disappearance on October 29. Despite being on the Home Office’s radar for overstaying his visa, he managed to avoid authorities.

Kaddour-Cherif’s criminal history includes charges of burglary, indecent exposure, and possession of stolen goods. He had previously been convicted and sentenced to a community order and registration on the sex offenders’ list. His recent release sparked concerns due to his past behavior and the potential risks he poses.

Authorities are actively searching for both Kaddour-Cherif and Smith, as the incidents have raised serious questions about the effectiveness and reliability of the criminal justice system. The release errors have prompted criticism from various officials and calls for more stringent measures to prevent such mistakes in the future.
