Luke Littler has shared that his upcoming opponent Mensur Suljovic predicted a match between them in the third round of the World Darts Championship. Littler, an 18-year-old, advanced in the tournament by defeating Welsh player David Davies in straight sets.
Following Gerwyn Price’s elimination by Wesley Plaisier, Littler remains a strong contender for victory at Alexandra Palace. Suljovic, after a challenging game against Joe Cullen, emerged victorious in the afternoon session despite criticism for his slow playing style.
Cullen expressed frustration over Suljovic’s pace, accusing him of ‘cheating’ on social media. However, Suljovic brushed off the remarks and focused on his next match. Prior to the tournament, Suljovic had anticipated facing Littler, who later revealed receiving a message from Suljovic saying, ‘See you in round three.’
In response to Suljovic’s playing speed, Cullen displayed visible displeasure during their match, later criticizing Suljovic’s behavior on social media. Despite the tension, Littler is optimistic about his performance in the championship.
The tournament has seen unexpected outcomes, with potential challengers like Ryan Joyce and Chris Dobey being eliminated, paving a more favorable path for Littler to reach the final. The PDC World Darts Championship commenced on December 11, with live coverage available exclusively on Sky’s Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle.
