Must read

After an extensive 24-hour search operation, Sudbury authorities confirmed the discovery of a deceased 26-year-old man in Crowley Lake following a tragic incident where his canoe overturned. The Greater Sudbury Police Service, along with firefighters and paramedics, responded to the lake on Thursday afternoon at approximately 3:45 p.m., ultimately locating the man around 3 p.m. the following day.

In consideration of the family’s privacy, law enforcement officials have chosen not to disclose the identity of the deceased individual. Reports indicated that a total of three individuals were in the canoe when it capsized, with two being safely rescued by nearby kayakers.

Efforts to locate the missing man involved a comprehensive search operation conducted by ground units alongside a K-9 team, as well as aerial support provided by a drone and an Ontario Provincial Police helicopter.
