“Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Cleared to Play After Injury”

Must read

Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been cleared to play after being removed from the seven-day injured list. He is set to join the team for their game against the New York Yankees on Saturday. Guerrero sustained an injury during a game against the Yankees when he collided with their rookie shortstop George Lombard Jr. at third base in the sixth inning, resulting in his helmet coming off. Despite the incident, Guerrero managed to score a run before leaving the game.

Following his return to the team on Friday, Guerrero successfully completed his concussion tests and even participated in batting practice after playing in a minor league rehab game for single-A Dunedin. He was placed second in the batting lineup for Saturday’s game, which comes after the Blue Jays suffered a 3-1 defeat to the Yankees in the series opener. In a corresponding roster move, the Jays decided to send Davis Schneider, an infielder/outfielder, to triple-A Buffalo.

Guerrero, who holds a batting average of .263 with seven home runs and 46 RBIs, was hitting .310 in his last seven games prior to the collision.
